What we check. What we don't. In plain language.
Most marketplaces say 'verified' and stop. We break it down so you can decide how much weight to give each signal.
Identity review
A reviewer matches a government ID (or licence number lookup for hobbyists) to the account holder, and records the date.
It does not assess character, competence or animal welfare.
Credential review
Professional sellers submit a certification photo, breeder's licence and proof of breeding grounds. We check they are present, legible and consistent with the profile.
We don't visit facilities, and we can't confirm credentials from closed registries. When a credential can't be independently confirmed we label it "seller-provided".
Quality Score
A 100-point score across five public sections, converted to 1-5 stars. Only verified purchasers can leave reviews.
It's not a warranty. It updates as evidence changes, and every point is traceable.
The 100-point rubric, published.
We are an intermediary, not an insurer.
KennelBreeders connects buyers and sellers, holds identity and credential records, and publishes scores. We do not inspect animals, certify health, or guarantee outcomes. Disputes go through normal legal channels such as small claims, with our transaction records available as evidence.
Known gaps we're closing
- • Formal data-security and privacy documentation (in progress)
- • Animal-welfare and local-regulation moderation beyond manual review
- • Cross-border transport and compliance guidance
- • Insurance options for transactions
- • Written service-level targets for support response
